If you have any problems with your mouth, a digital x-ray will let us see structures normally hidden from view, for example in a tooth root or in between teeth. We will also need to take regular dental x-rays every so often, normally every two years for healthy adults. Digital x-rays are very safe and we will only take an x-ray when needed. Radiation from digital dental x-rays is greatly reduced compared to conventional x-rays.
Intraoral cameras take high-quality photos inside your mouth and these images can be displayed on the screens in our surgery. This allows us to explain any problems and possible treatments much more clearly, so you will see exactly why a procedure is needed and will learn how it will help your dental health. Seeing these photos will also allow you to appreciate the improvement to the appearance of a tooth before and after treatment.
